Evaluation
The Grand Peace Tour is a 'growth journey with questions', aiming to foster talents who aspire to public good with an open mind and inclusiveness. Travel schedules that merely roam famous tourist sites in various countries, like a package tour, without a specific 'theme' of their own, will not receive favorable evaluations in the assessment.
Since the support is provided in the form of airfare, there is no space to write an expense report in this application. The expenditure plan is not subject to review in the assessment. Applicants must first look at the following three areas and sub-themes, select their area of interest, and design questions relevant to the theme.
Grand Peace Tour Sub-themes:
International Peace: International relations, human rights promotion, cultural exchange, global citizenship, diversity respect, public diplomacy, international development cooperation, international humanitarian support, multicultural coexistence, international peacekeeping activities, participation in global governance, compliance with international law and norms, balance between globalization and localization, international trade and economic integration, sustainable peace, etc.
Ecological Peace: Sustainability, ecosystem protection, resource management, animal rights protection, climate change response strategies, local ecological tourism development, biodiversity conservation, eco-friendly energy, eco-friendly product development, green business models, eco-technology, environmental ethics and philosophy, reinterpreting the relationship between nature and humans, use of environmental data, etc.
Local Peace: Community solidarity, reflecting local culture, creating spaces for the community, local cultural events, support for local artists, public cultural and art projects, establishing local brand identity, local-based marketing strategies, promoting local values, supporting and integrating the underprivileged, resolving community conflicts, inter-regional exchange and cooperation, etc.
Once you have found an area of interest among these three themes, create broad questions through reading, including 'why' or 'how'. After forming a big question, think about the travel destination where you can find the answer, the reasons for selecting that destination, and detailed questions related to the travel destination.
